Candle Care & Safety Guide
Lighting candles can be soothing and help you unwind after a busy day, but it's important to remember that an open flame can be a fire risk.
To keep everyone safe, please keep these points in mind:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish it before leaving the room.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Never move a lit candle. Always place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects before lighting.
- Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and extreme temperatures to preserve shape, colour, and scent.
- Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame - blowing can cause wax to splatter.
- Avoid placing candles near drafts, vents, or fans.
- Discontinue use when only 1cm of wax remains to prevent container damage.
- If wax spills, allow it to cool and harden before removing it - avoid scraping surfaces.
Candle Burning Instructions
To ensure a safe and optimal burning experience, please follow the instructions below:
- Trim the wick to 6mm before each use to maintain a steady, clean burn.
- Do not burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
- Keep the wick centred to avoid uneven burning or soot buildup.
- Jar Candles: Allow the wax to melt to the edges on the first burn to prevent tunnelling. Use a heat-resistant coaster on delicate surfaces.
- Pillar Candles: Remove tags and ribbons before lighting. Use a flat, heat-resistant tray underneath to catch dripping wax. Decorative candles may drip and are best used for decoration, we do not recommend burning your pillar candles.
Candle Frosting
Our handmade soy candles may naturally develop a white, crystalline look known as frosting. This is caused by temperature changes and does not affect safety, performance, or scent throw.
Tips to Avoid Frosting
Store your candle at room temperature and avoid cold spots. Frosting is a sign of soy wax’s natural qualities-embrace its uniqueness!
Glass Adhesion After Cooling (Wet Spots)
Wet spots are a natural result of temperature fluctuations during cooling and are not a defect. They do not affect candle performance or fragrance strength.
Tips for Avoiding Wet Spots
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to reduce uneven cooling and help maintain appearance.
